A four time leading jockey in the Dominican Republic, Joel Rosario was born in Santo Domingo, where he attended the jockey school of the Dominican Republic for 6-months prior to turning pro at the age of 16. He achieved his first win in 2000 at the Galapagos Hippodromos V Centenario and moved to California in 2006 to further pursue his career. He currently holds the record for most races won on a single race card and is a multi-graded stakes winner.
