Belmont Stakes Contender Tonalist

Belmont Stakes contender Tonalist, a son of Tapit and out of Settling Mist (by Pleasant Colony), has been creating quite a bit of buzz these last few weeks after his impressive 4-length win on an extremely sloppy track in the Peter Pan Stakes, held last month at Belmont Park. With a total of 4 races under his girth, Tonalist is a big bay colt with a very large stride and has shown much consistency as a  front runner that can pick up the pace and take over the lead at the drop of a dime. Bred by Woodslane Farm and owned by Robert E. Evans, Belmont Stakes contender Tonalist will have jockey Joel Rosario in the irons and is definitely the kind of horse that will challenge California Chrome in the final stretch. This colt’s bloodlines include some of the most influential sires in the history of thoroughbred racing such as Tapit, A.P. Indy, Unbridled, 1964 Triple Crown bid Northern Dancer, 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew, and 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat further. Going into Saturday’s race with M/L odd’s of 8-1, you may want to place some bets on this attractive pony to finish in the top 3.
